PBTD 01/3

Korbin was an interesting guy. He was tall and strong, and had silver hair that almost looked unnatural. His face was weathered slightly from the life he had lived, but he wasn’t that old—or at least that was what his eyes told her.

“Do you live here?” Yeah.” He nodded, looking at Katie. “I’ve seen quite a few faces come and go. It’s the closest thing I have to a home in this life. He had never gotten used to it; never gotten used to watching people be robbed of their lives, saddened to see such a young girl yanked from her life and thrown into the hell that was being one of the Damned. It was an impossible world that they lived in, and it was worse when all your options were snatched from you in the blink of an eye. I want to get her stronger so it just stays a voice and doesn’t go any further than that.

She’s got a fire behind those eyes I haven’t seen in a female before. Unless that fire is coming from the demon, she might just kick some major ass with this team.

Korbin's feelings about his work: when he got to his room, he peeled off the sweaty clothes covered in human and demon blood and tossed them into the fireplace. He’d never felt comfortable wearing clothes with the blood of the Damned on them. He’d burned about twenty outfits in just the last couple months. It was worth the extra money to him to just buy new stuff every so often.

Korbin's past life and his goal in this one: Korbin was a master sergeant in the Army, and had the tactical ability to set just about anything into motion. He remembered the war: the faces he had lost, the limbs torn from bodies, and the massacre that had ensued on that fateful night—the mission that would change him forever. He had been the only one left standing, but he was no longer alone. The demon had buried itself in his gut.Korbin wouldn’t be commanded though, and he had left without a word, determined to help others. It bore on his soul every time he was too late, every time a human died, every time a demon won a battle. The worst part of it for him wasn’t the actual demon inside him. It was his own personal demons, those being the faces of every single soldier he had lost along the way. Otherwise they would all be lost to the silent killers that lurked in the shadows, watching the innocent, plotting, scheming, and bringing hell right to their doorsteps. He hadn’t asked for this job. But he sure as hell wouldn’t turn away from it. There were demons out there preying on the weak, and his war, chosen or not, was to rid the world of those vile creatures, sending them back to the depths of hell where they came from. Would he be successful? He had no clue, but he would sure as hell do the best damn job he could. He had made it his goal in that life to not lose any more of his men to the Damned, or to the demons that resided in them.To the best of his abilities, so help him God.

Korbin maintains his character throughout the book, with no major changes of events.

PBTD 02/1

Watching his men die is something that never gets easier. A major consideration for him when making choices for new team members. Are they REALLY strong enough? Considers himself totally responsible for any deaths, and the last two losses, Armani and Garrett, have him depressed.

PBTD 03/5

Meets Mamacita for first time, in relation to negotiating prices for materials for new company and Joshua.

PBTD 08/25

Korbin and Stephanie Lee are living the life they had envisioned. Katie had pulled their demons out, and Damian had arranged that they would have their farm, and happiness. And Katie and Pandora made a vow.

Katie pulled her hood over her head, sending her love to Korbin and Stephanie one last time even if they didn’t know who she was anymore. “I promise I will fucking kill every last demon in hell if it’s what I have to do to keep you two together.”

Pandora voice rumbled from Katie’s throat. “So it is spoken, so shall it be...”

WOTD 04/7 Calvin wants to approach Korbin and Stepjanie Lee to be with Sofia in San Diego, to protect her from the Mexican drug cartels. he goes to them, explains what had happened to them, and asks their help. They agree to help, come to San Diego, meet with Katie, Calvin, etc., and have no memories of it of any kind. But they are happy to help, and a suspition is left that they might be in fiture events.
