Her long hair was wildly streaked pink and purple, her makeup was dark and crazy no matter what time of day , and her attitude matched all of the above. She was a wild child, had been her whole life. She was teetering on the edge of no future, walking the edge of a homeless, jobless, or perhaps addicted life—and she didn’t give two shits about it.She had always known she would go down that path; she had made it a point to do so. She was fucking smart and she knew she had control, but when her parents started going nuts and life just got to be too much, she had buried herself in the underground. She lost her pain in drugs and alcohol, danced until her feet couldn’t move anymore, and fell into the arms of whatever hottie was crushing on her that night. Self-respect wasn’t the name of her game, nor was respect. She was upfront about it, and she wasn’t worried what others thought. She didn’t give a flying fuck, and that was just how it was. There was no fucking way she was going to bend to the demands of her society or her parents, who didn’t do anything but bitch and push her further down the partying rabbit hole.

She was never early to work, (as a barista at Starbucks), but never got fired (promise to her mother from a friend).

PBTD 05/11

A straight-A student in high school, but not because she cared to study—just because it was so damn easy. They tried to challenge her with AP classes, but they were all yawnworthy. All they included was more homework. The other crap was already in her head. I got a couple scholarships.” She shrugged. “But I wasn’t interested. My parents just couldn’t wrap their little heads around that. College wasn’t for me." Calvin takes over." I think at this point the best thing for us to do is just see what you have in you. Go put on some tennis shoes, I put some new ones on the bench, along with some workout clothes that Katie brought down. We’ll hit the track. Ella had to figure out how to deal with humans who wanted to work her harder than her parents had and a demon who was a complete and total asshole. She had enough shit in her life; she did not need this. Tries to escape out the window, is caught by Stephanie, forced to climb back up the way she came down. Melneck tells her that ,"What I got for you is going to tone, burn, and churn those muscles to perfection.

PBTD 06/7

Phoenix Incursion. Ella laughed and looked in the mirror at her hair, which no longer showed any crazy colors. It was just long and black. She was still her though: dressed in black, ripped jeans, nose ring, and worn out, scuffed boots. Training and the life of a killer had mellowed her a bit, but she channeled all that energy into being as badass as possible. She took the black leather cuff off her wrist and threw it on the dresser.She would be happy to see Stephanie and Katie again. Every time there was a bulletin with news of tributes, she checked to make sure the girls were okay. She just hid the emotion underneath, trying to keep her wall up with the teams. She couldn’t help but feel that those girls were her sisters, and she was booked to fight alongside them.

General Anderson tells Katie what's going on with Ella, in New York. She seems to be kind of in the same boat as you right now, a bounty-hunter-for-hire thing. Eric went with her. The two seem to make a pretty good team, and the truth is, there seems to be more money in the for-hire business right now than with the teams. She still helps them whenever they need her, but the two of them are jet-setting wherever the contracts take them.”
