| The weapons are being released, the military is sniffing around, and Katie is bitching up a storm about her lost Ferrari.
Stephanie is helping the team move to a new location, and focusing her talents where she feels they will be best used. On the team. In New York, T'Chezz is starting a new effort to acquire information acquisition contacts. Otherwise known as spies and turncoats. One young woman is on a path to ignore life, thinking “My day couldn't possibly get worse.” Bad choice of words. Now Katie and Pandora need to help her sort out her life before the last two options she has are research... Or death. And if that wasn't a big enough pain for Katie, the military comes calling for help. |

T'CHEZZ
PBTD 05/1
T'Chezz fell back into Hell, the portal closed, and he was left where he had started, but with Katie's car as a reminder of his failure (put it in his artwork collection). He HAD to get control of the demon killers, or things would get too complicated. Called on The Ivy to help him. Wants him to go up to earth, find a host, infiltrate the Damned. I need one of them to make a deal with me; give up the whereabouts of the Killers and their toys. You always get the job done. Also ordered Zallot (one of his killer demons) to make sure that asshole Ivy is taken care of when he is finished. His usefulness to me is at an end. I won’t miss him for a few hundred years.” He was going to get Korbin’s Killers and bring his sister back down to hell, squashing her little human in the process. PBTD 05/6 T'Chezz receives word that Ivy is dead, as his host's body was seen being loaded into an SUV, dead. Wrong info, as Ivy transferred to ella Hamilton, who was nearby when Bridgett was killed.
PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
PBTD 05/1
Korbin, Calvin, Damian and Katie meet, discuss items that need attention in the future of the team. 1. Tell team about Katie and Pandora, and Katie's new abilities? No. Team wouldn't understand. Katie to be away, when other team leaders come for meeting . Disneyland? Universal Studios? 2. Confab about weapons with other teams. Won't be secret much longer. 3. Stephanie to tell about her land; suitable for new base? 100+ acres, Old ICBM building for immediate occupancy. Invest in helicopter for transportation. Stephanie owns it in mother's maiden name, paid for in cash. Good distance from Area 51, so Government won't be bothered by proximity.
KATIE'S TRIP TO CALIFORNIA
PBTD 05/2 Katie and Damian leave for California (driving).
PBTD 05/4, 5 Check in, plan their activities. Grauman's Chinese, the Stars sidewalk, (Pandora reciting the racier history of various stars), Hard Rock Cafe. Recognized as part of D Squad by Hollywood cops just a robbery call came to them Katie followed (with Damian). Recognized by In-Charge, asked for their help (lots of hostages, one cop shot).
PBTD 05/6 Katie and Damian go in, (acting as a dumb Valley Girl and husband), disarmed robbers, released hostages, went to Kettle Glazed donuts as reward for Pandora's part in operation. Promised Pandora one dozen - no more
PBTD 05/8 Katie and Damian return to old base, report in, shower, go to bed Katie can't sleep (Pandora's sugar-doughnut high!), so gets up to watch soaps. Eric, Stephanie, Calvin join her. Katie invited by Stephanie to party at old "house" next night, meet many of the girls. she accepts, goes to party, and all have a bittersweet goodbye to a way of life, and to a house. House donated to Damian's church, as a charitable institution for homeless, less fortunate to get on their feet.
MEETING WITH THE TEAMS
PBTD 05/2 Four team leaders meet with Korbin, get a review of the battle with the demons, ruining of the base, plans for rebuild at another location.
PBTD 05/3 Shows them the special metal weapons, and would need their help keeping the weaponry a secret from the government. There were twelve weapons, enough for each team lead to take home three. Amy, favorite of the leaders, volunteered as the first for Korbin to "test. Told them about Joshua, his history. Again decides to keep Katie's abilities a secret, especially from John (whom Korbin trusted the least).
PBTD 05/6 Korbin shows team leaders knives, swords, tells them of cross, and that they are working on bullets. Tells them prices ($35K - $50K - reasonable) if government NOT involved. If Feds, prices will go up. Korbin doesn't trust the government to have his best interests or the best interests of the teams at heart. If the government finds out about this stuff they may try to seize the weapons, and getting some back will be like pulling teeth. They will equip their men first, and then throw the bones to us. William shared,"I’ve heard there is a new general in place over the government teams,” William shared. “They say that he has a better attitude about working with mercenary teams; that he recognizes the importance of what we do." Sounds better than the last guy, who actually tried to shut us down. All of the team leaders purchased the three each allowed, paid for them in cash (over $1/2 Million to Korbin), then just had to decide who on their teams might be allowed to use them
IVY'S MISSION
PBTD 05/3 Ivy comes to Earth, finds Bridgett, human head of a coven, who had not yet been infected, and was anxious for the experience. She happens to know a Killer, who is resentful of being in a secondary position, and might be willing to talk with Ivy to negotiate deals of betrayal.
PBTD 05/5 Went out for breakfast/coffee, met Ella Hamilton, barista at Starbucks.
PBTD 05/6 Bridgett meets with Melvin Ransom, the team heavy for the Wyld Jokers, a group of ruthless killers hell-bent on ridding New York City of demons, offers him opportunity for information re coming attacks, in return for providing her with information. Melvin recognizes her a possessed, kills her, and as she is dying Ivy transfers to Ella Hamilton, who had just come out into the alley to empty the trash. Melvin calls Isaac, his supervisor, who just wants to welcome Ella to the team, as she will fit in if she's possessed.
THE NEW BASE
PBTD 05/5 Stephanie brings Korbin the plans for the base, laid out as it would be when he took over, before renovation. (See Locations -Korbin's Base (Compound)). Maybe could be moved in within three days' time.
PBTD 05/16 Stephanie Lee and Joshua go out to new base with Avery, one of the girls. Review plans of where things will go, time it will take. Basics (water, power, heating and cooling) working.
PBTD 05/19 See Locations - Korbin's Base for full description. There is a MH-6 Little Bird for sale that I am considering purchasing. I am still looking for a chopper that’s big enough for the whole team, but I figured it would be a start. We can use it locally for reconnaissance. They are relatively straightforward to fly, too.”
VISIT FROM NATIONAL MILITARY ADVISOR
PBTD 05/12 The National Military Advisor wants to see the facilities, since he heard that the base took quite a bit of damage recently.. That means hiding everything not Military in source. Will be there in 24 hours. Korbin calls Stephanie back from new base to help with coverup. Katie and Damian to take Ella back to NY, to finish training with her own team. Katie to be back in four days. Arranges for flight, asks about availability of helicopter for sale, with short-call pilot.
PBTD 05/13 Stephanie called on everyone she knew to help move the base - gang members, friends, girls - it got done by midnight. Joshua depressed over move. H had been happy there for first time in decades. He eventually feel ready to move forward, as he had found some machines on the dark web that might be able to create the bullets they needed. Korbin is sent videos of Katie and Damian in LA, in the bank robbery. Was worried that they may have outed themselves, so asked DEA agent, "Are these available to the public?"
PBTD 05/14 Received answer that it was in evidence, and not public, and needed process for keeping these types of videos hidden. Had to protect the demon killers' secrets.
PBTD 05/16 Arrive in three helicopters. Colonel Karen Jehovivich and General Aaron Brushwood descend, introduce themselves. General starts,"I heard through the grapevine that there had been a major incursion here, and I would like to understand what happened,” he explained. “The more knowledge I have on what your teams do, the better we can all work together.” General and Colonel ask too many questions, Korbin tells them to read the reports. It's all in there. They still want to see the damage, so Korbin shows them the destroyed buildings. Colonel asked the questions, making her the more dangerous of the two. Want to talk to Eric later. Korbin wondered how they knew so much about the attack, and both Korbin and Calvin decided that there were spies in the ranks of the Damned
PBTD 05/18 Military know about secret weapons, and will not make waves right now, as the nerc need them to do battle which the military cannot handle. If military want them, they will seize them. Let it be, for the moment.
ELLA JOINS KORBIN'S KILLERS
PBTD 05/9 Korbin receives a call from John (leader of the Wyld Jokers ,New York), that he has just taken in a Damned and cannot handle her. Could Korbin help him out - train her, take the edges off, and John will take her back. Korbin agrees. Will upset the balance of the team, but maybe a good thing. Korbin sends Stephanie and Katie to pick her up, bring her back. She will be training with the team, and then end up back in New York to work on that team. They needed some help getting things together. She’s a bit of a wild card, so you might be surprised at what you find. Ella refuses to go back with them, so Stephanie pulls a knife, threatens to cut her head off, and leads her into jet by an ear.
PBTD 05/10 Damian and Katie talk to Ella, sympathizing with new situation. Tells Ella she needs to cry, get the emotion out of it. Then will get some awesome training, play with some really cool toys and then kick monster ass like you are in the movies, hopefully without dying. learn to talk to your demon. Katie talks to Pandora, gets her to talk to Ella's demon, who turns out to be Melneck, a demon Pandora knew from before. Melneck upset over disruption of his plans, did not know that demons could truly be killed and disappear. Pandora got him to agree to help Ella, as the longer she is alive the longer he will be alive.
PBTD 05/11 Training time. Ella doesn't want to get up, Melneck trying to use intestinal discomfort to waken her. Eventually Ella gets up, goes to training. Calvin asks about her history (See Characters, Ella)
PBTD 05/12 Ella flown back to NY, with Katie and Damian as companions, to train her for four days, Katie and Damian to come home, Ella to stay with her team there.
PBTD 05/17 Ella arguing with her demon Melneck, about what training moves she should be using - JuJitsu? Tai Kwan Do? Grav Maga? Grav Mag!
PBTD 05/20 Ella decides, after a quiet afternoon in the New Jersey Base House, that Demon Killing wasn't really for her, and started to walk out the doort. Melneck stopped her, with Not until we have a little talk. PBTD 05/23, 24 Ella stops a schoolyard bullying incident, for the first time trying to protect the underdog. Melneck taunts her, to get her to fight as she should. She did, and walks back to the base, proudly.
KATIE'S AND DAMIAN'S TRIP TO NEW YORK
The Exorcism
PBTD 05/14 On landing, met by Isaac, team second. Got a call on way to base, go to an exorcism , and as Damian was along, he could do it. They reminisce about earlier exorcisms. (Ghost Hunters)
PBTD 05/15 Katie, Damian, Isaac and Ella go into house, old brownstone, all armed except Ella. Find woman on bed, second floor bedroom. Katie to hold her down, while Damian extracts demon. Isaac and Ella to run, if necessary. (See Technology - Exorcism) After the exorcism, Ella was fascinated, She could tell that everyone was afraid it was going to scare her off, but it did the opposite. It made her want to fight, to kick demon ass just like the rest of them did. It made her want to buckle down and get going, because there was no time to waste. They all went out for something to eat after this. Melneck wouldn't let Ella eat any of the bar food (too nasty and unhealthy), and Pandora talked about when she had been in New York last, and dated Edgar Allen Poe.
PBTD 05/17 Working with the New York Team. John asks that they work with the new Jersey base for their few days. Will take Ella with them, continue her training. Katie and Damian given red shirts, (the expendables). Korbin calls, tells them about the videos, and to not do it again. They agree. Katie and Ella settle down to watch soaps. Melneck now likes them, too.
PBTD 05/19 Katie and Damian go out on a call, house in New Jersey. Ella reads the plaques honoring the deaths of the team members from that base, and developed a better sense of what it was all about. House in New Jersey was a false alarm, so went to another call, close by.
PBTD 05/20 Poorer neighborhood, smaller house, filled with hell-hounds (according to Pandora), demons that look like very large dogs with vicious teeth, red eyes, and parts that would make your grandmother turn over in her grave. Three in the house, chewing on parts of dead bodies. First one jumped at Katie, she cut off its head. Damian was fighting a second one, Katie killed it. The third one ran past them, broke through the window and ran away down the street. Katie and Damian chased it through yards, through a BBQ party (where they were taped), and over into the next yard, chasing it until they killed it.
PBTD 05/24 After the Virginia battle, Katie and Damian go back to Vegas, saying an almost tearful goodby to ella, who has the beginnings of a new life.
A NEW DANGER
PBTD 05/18 A minor demon, thinking it would be getting ahead, decided to inhabit a grey wolf's body, to spy on the Killers. I did so, and was seen by Eric and Korbin. When it's eyes showed red, they killed it.
THE VIRGINIA BATTLE
PBTD 05/21
The US Military call John (Wyld Jokers) for back-up help in Virginia. Large incursion, need two person back-up. John sends Katie and Damian. Blackhawk will pick them up, fly them to Virginia. Katie and Damian just returning from the hell-hound chase, find Ella laying in front yard of base, unconscious, restrained by Melneck. Ella had wanted to go off and see her Mom, and Melneck had stopped her, so that she did not become research material. Saved her life. She wanted to go home, and Katie and Damian told her, in no uncertain terms that she WAS home! Get used to it! John called, telling them the Government would be picking them up shortly, for action in Virginia. What does that mean?One, we get to be told what to do. Two, they are never in the right place at the right time to help us. Three, our butts are on the line. Four, they don’t have any Damned on their teams. Five, we are the ones who get stuck on the front part of the spear. Six, it just continues to get worse, and seven, should anything work well they will get all the credit. Everything else is on us.”
PBTD 05/22 As they flew, Katie worried about having to take orders from anyone. Had become quite independent, and hated taking orders from assholes who had no idea what they were doing. They met Sgt. McKay, their "leader". Katie already didn't like him. His instructions were,"You guys roll in ahead of us, so we are ready to take on the big guy. Then we can give you a little break while we take him down and tie up the loose ends. We wouldn’t want to send the two of you into the boss and endanger your lives any more than we have to.”“So,” Damian clarified, “they get all the glory for taking down the ‘boss,’ and then receive the highest payout for the biggest demon. They are playing us hardcore, and that sergeant knows it.” Katie and Damian do so, leaving the Big Boss to the military to clean up. They couldn't do it, and Katie and Damian had to go in and finish off Bokorgh, a big demon, a bit of a pussy, with a destructive right cross. They did, and it ended. The demon smashed through the wall, destroying part of the building. Damian and Katie stalked out of the room, their eyes on fire as they grabbed the demon by his legs and pulled him back into the other room, screaming. It soon stopped, and perfect silence ensued. The demon was dead.
COMING HOME
PBTD 05/25
On the way home, Katie asks the pilot to fly over the new base, which he does. Katie notices a LOT of empty, dry desert, and begins to make plans for their future car. Maybe an upgrade - ? Maybe something a little more appropriate for the terrain we are moving to. Something with a kick, that fits our style. Katie, Damian, Stephanie and Korbin sit around table, as Katie and Damian report on their trip, getting all details about the military activities, etc. Korbin happy that Pandora was still a secret, although he would have some work to do about the weapons thing.
Stephanie's New Plan:
Stephanie tells them of information she has on who the infected humans might be. You know, the ones wreaking havoc on society, fucking with politics and the economy, and generally doing things they aren’t supposed to. There are more demons out there than just the ones trying to kill us. There are old-school ones who try to keep a low profile, helping their human capsules and making deals with the devil. I think we should jump on this. I mean, we are demon hunters, right?” Pandora can give the suspects her "demon test" before they even answer the door. Just let us try it. Let us prove to you that we don’t have to wait for the demons to come to us,” Stephanie argued. “We can catch them by surprise, and take care of it before anyone else knows. We will be taking care of the war on the outside and taking care of the underground on the back burner. Otherwise we win the war but we are still at war, only now they are masked.” “You get one, and I mean ONE, trial run, so pick your best bet here.” Katie and Stephanie do so, accosting an older man, in his home, who had made a deal with the devil, carried a demon inside him, and two others at his home. They leave him unconscious.
