New Special Weapons

“The general was looking for big guns, the stuff that would do some serious damage to the demons and make for fewer casualties among his troops. We started to do some research, looking into what weapons existed and how we could modify them.”Joshua picked up one of their 30mm fragmentation rounds. “This sucker is made of the metals, and inside is not only an explosive, but it launches slivers of this outward. You could shoot one of these into a crowd of demons or one big-ass motherfucker and it would send little ones through his whole body.” A normal teargas round, right?”“Yeah.”

“It’s not. We ground the special metal to dust and put it in the teargas round. The human hosts are affected by the tear gas and it disables the physical body, while the metal dust gets into the demon through the lungs. You are taking down two with one shot, and it’s not lethal in small doses—so if we want to capture some of them for testing we can. Otherwise, we are disabling them enough to get in and take them out.”

We are currently working on grenades made from the metal, and possibly teargas grenades, depending on what the military wants. This teargas mixture could be pertinent in many different scenarios, including when there is a demon causing mass panic. If you use it there, you are going to find demons on the ground unable to move. Of course, we haven’t yet tested the harm the metal dust will do to a normal human, but the military doesn’t seem to be too concerned.”

Through usage and design, the weapons have been improved throughout the books.

BULLETS: “Our new bullets have been designed to not only penetrate the flesh of some of the largest demons we have come in contact with, but to continue to work their way through once the ammunition has gone through the first layer. We all know how tough a demon’s scales can be, and that has been one of the main concerns. We will produce these bullets in all sizes, so you will not have to switch out your weapons for new ones.” Katie pulled one of her smaller pistols and loaded a magazine of the special bullets. She turned and fired at the target, a small ‘x’ on the center mass of the dummy. She pushed the button to retrieve the dummy. The bullet hole was smoking and she smiled, looking down at her watch. “Give it maybe...five more seconds.”She counted down in her head and then pulled the demon hide off of the dummy, holding it up in the air. She looked straight through the hole in the flesh and smiled as the guys clapped. Inside the dummy was a large rubber heart, a hole in it as well and the bullet lodged right in the center.

GRENADE SMOKE BOMBS: Katie was explaining the timer located on the side. They were a new design, meant to prevent the infected fighters from getting caught in the crossfire.

“If you pull the pin and let it go, it will give you fifteen seconds to get away. However, you can program it on the spot, or pre-program these for a longer time period. This will help you get out of tight situations without being taken down by the smoke. I believe that these would also work well when you are setting a trap. If you know where they will be gathering and what time, you can set these in nondescript places and put the small carrying bag around them. That will shield those on the outside from the light of the timer. Then set them for a time when you won’t be in the building but demons will be. Drop them where they stand, and then you can go in with gas masks and clear the field.”
